| Up to now Manfred Junker is known for his originals in the Modern Jazz scene. But as subject for his newest CD he chose the compositions of Cole Porter. Now he introduces his album "Cole Porter - live!". With interesting arrangements, which leave room for improvising and persuade with lots of musical power. The quartet´s live recordings of March 2001 - taken during performances in various Jazz clubs - prove the excellent skills of Manfred Junker (guitar), Reto Suhner (saxophones), Heiner Merk (bass) and Martin Deufel (drums). Playing homogeneous, offering a stolid rhythm section and grooving and imaginative soli they thrill the listener and show an unbelievable joy in performing. On their album the four musicians succeed in inspiring the listener with the timeless and current music of Cole Porter. |
