Ten years after its founding in Berlin by Ukrainian singer Viktoria Lel\u00e9ka, the band LEL\u00c9KA looks back on an extraordinary success story. On May 15, 2026, the anniversary LP \u201c10 Years of Music\u201d<\/em> will be released on GLM Music \u2013 a special vinyl edition bringing together key musical milestones, hidden gems, and all tracks from the past decade that have never before been available on vinyl.<\/p>\n

What began in 2016 as an artistic vision to blend the sound of her homeland with the ever-evolving language of jazz has, over the years, grown into a firmly established presence on the music scene. Hundreds of concerts across Europe, appearances at major jazz festivals, and several tours to Ukraine have shaped the band\u2019s journey.<\/p>\n

LEL\u00c9KA is a young, multicultural quartet led by singer Viktoria Lel\u00e9ka, whose enchantingly magical, ethereal voice profoundly shapes the character and atmosphere of the ensemble\u2019s sound. The band represents a musical identity between cultures, combining jazz\u2019s love of improvisation with the emotional expressiveness of Ukrainian melodies. From dynamically grooving passages to delicate folk ballads, a rich sonic universe unfolds, condensed into a distinctive and multifaceted artistic concept.<\/p>\n

This unique fusion of jazz-inspired improvisational freedom and the emotional power of Ukrainian melodies has earned LEL\u00c9KA numerous awards, including victory at Creole Berlin and the European Young Artists\u2019 Jazz Award in Burghausen. In 2022, the band was also nominated for the German Jazz Prize in the category \u201cBand of the Year.\u201d Festival appearances at Elbjazz, Jazz & The City, Bardentreffen, and the Rudolstadt Festival rank among the highlights of the band\u2019s history and underscore its presence on international stages.<\/p>\n

Since the outbreak of the war of aggression against Ukraine, interest in Ukrainian culture has grown noticeably \u2013 bringing increased attention to LEL\u00c9KA\u2019s significance as musical ambassadors of their homeland. Their concerts have since become not only impressive reinterpretations of old, often forgotten folk songs, but also artistic statements advocating for the visibility and the very right to exist of Ukrainian culture.<\/p>\n

\u201c10 Years of Music\u201d is far more than a retrospective. The double LP brings together pieces from the band\u2019s early creative period, previously unreleased compositions written alongside their three albums and now presented to the public for the first time, as well as selected live versions capturing the immediate energy of their concerts. All songs in this edition were newly mastered for vinyl by sound engineer Christoph Stickel, allowing these works to be experienced with enhanced sonic depth.<\/p>\n

The milestone year lends this release additional radiance: in 2026, band founder Viktoria Lel\u00e9ka will represent Ukraine at the Eurovision Song Contest \u2013 another milestone in her artistic career. The anniversary LP thus documents not only ten years of the band\u2019s history, but also the journey of an exceptional singer and songwriter whose voice resonates far beyond the jazz scene.<\/p>\n

This vinyl edition is a gesture of gratitude to the audience that has accompanied LEL\u00c9KA over the past decade \u2013 and at the same time, a powerful statement for the future.<\/p>\n
