Schon vier Monate sp\u00e4ter, im Januar 1995, war eine erste Tournee in Deutschland geplant, die zu einem gro\u00dfen Erfolg wurde. Die Freude am gemeinsamen Spiel und der dabei entstehende homogene Sound begeisterte das Publikum in den Clubs.<\/p>\n<p>Mit diesem Renomm\u00e9e ging die Band im Dezember 1995 auf eine n\u00e4chste dreiw\u00f6chige Tour in Deutschland, mit der sie sich bei vielen Jazzfans einen guten Namen machen konnte. Das Repertoire der Band umfa\u00dft Standards, die die Band in eigenen Arrangements spielt, sowie zahlreiche Eigenkompositionen der vier Musiker.<\/p>\n<p>Brad Leali spielt seit seinem dreizehnten Lebensjahr Saxophon. Er studierte Musik an der North Texas University. 1991 wurde Harry Connick jr. auf ihn aufmerksam und berief ihn als ersten Altisten in seine Big Band. Seitdem lebt Brad in New York, wo er mit Musikern wie Arthur Blythe, George Benson, Clark Terry, Christian McBride, John Hicks u.a. arbeitet. Er spielt regelm\u00e4\u00dfig in der Mingus Big Band. Im Mai 1995 bekam er das Angebot als Altsaxophonist in die Count Basie Band einzusteigen, mit der er mehrere Monate im Jahr auf Tour ist.<\/p>\n<p>J\u00f6rg Kr\u00fcckel am Piano studierte in Weimar, Berlin und New York bei Walter Norris, Harald Danko und Aki Takase. Er lebt seit 1994 in New York und spielt dort in der lokalen Szene, u.a. in der Band des Trompeters Manny Duran, sowie mit Musikern wie Joe Magnarelli, Bill Mobley, Andy Bey, Gerald Cannon u.a. In Deutschland arbeitet er mit dem Rolf von Nordenskj\u00f6ld Quartett, der gleichnamigen Big Band, der Band EVIDENCE mit Walter Gauchel, Paul Imm, Christof Leicher sowie mit zahlreichen anderen Musikern der deutschen Szene.<\/p>\n<p>Joris Teepe (bass) studierte in Amsterdam und New York bei Ray Brown, John Clayton, Dave Holland und Ron Carter. Er ist ein vielgefragter Bassist der internationalen Jazzszene. Unter seinem eigenen Namen hat er bereits mehrere CDs aufgenommen.<\/p>\n<p>The four musicians met in various bands of the New York Jazz scene. In September 1994, they formed a quartet. Only four months later, in January 1995, they went on their first tour to Germany. It was a great success. With their enthusiasm for playing together and their cohesive sound, they delighted the club audiences. With this reputation, the band returned to Germany for another three week tour in December 1995, making a name for themselves with many Jazz fans. The group&#8217;s repertoire includes original arrangements of standards as well as numerous original compositions by the four musicians.<\/p>\n<p>Brad Leali has been playing saxophone since age thirteen. He studied music at North Texas University. In 1991, Harry Connick, Jr. became aware of him and hired him for the first alto chair in his big band. Since that time, he has been living in New York where he works with musicians like Arthur Blythe, George Benson, Clark Terry, Christian McBride, John Hicks and others.
