COLOURS OF EUROPE is a declaration of love for Europe’s cultural diversity and a passionate

Knecht transforms beautiful folk songs from France, Austria, Italy, Spain, and Germany into melodically moving ballads and rhythmically stirring grooves in his unique style.<\/p>\n

Edgar Knecht began his project 19 years ago. What has happened since then reads almost like a fairy tale: with his unmistakable blend of classical, jazz, and world music, Knecht celebrated his international breakthrough at the legendary jazz festival in Havana and toured Europe, the US, and Asia.<\/p>\n

His trilogy of German folk songs was hailed by critics as \u201cthe most aesthetically beautiful and musically captivating jazz albums of recent years,\u201d made it into the German jazz charts and various lists of the \u201cbest albums of the year.\u201d The NDR sums it up: \u201cA unique symbiosis of classical music, jazz, and German folk songs that is unparalleled.\u201d<\/p>\n
