Kleztory is the pure soul of klezmer!

The Canadian ensemble KLEZTORY presents traditional but fresh klezmer at the highest level. The technical perfection of the musicians lets the essence of Klezmer sparkle: classical education and autodidactism combined with joyful playfulness and great dedication to their interpretations.
KLEZTORY form a colorful mosaic of cultures, musical education and preferences – from classical music to jazz, folk, blues. The musicians unite their diverse talents and experiences and bring their music to the stage with great virtuosity and strong feeling.

With their own arrangements, which are both innovative and traditionally committed, and their unmistakeable self-compositions, they go a unique and authentic musical path. KLEZTORY’s playing style is characterized by passion, energy, humor and almost symbiotic interplay.

In a very respectful interaction with the rich Klezmer tradition, KLEZTORY give their arrangements of the classics their distinctive own touch: with elements from jazz, a touch of classical music or a grain of blues. The resulting color, texture and depth are refreshing and original.

Their 5th album NIGUN takes the listener into the depths of klezmer, between tradition and modernity. The pieces – a mixture of their own compositions and songs from the rich Klezmer repertoire of Eastern Europe, blend in harmony and joy. This also proves that there are no limits in music. KLEZTORY pay particular attention to the improvisation, without however giving up the particularly fine and nuanced arrangements, which make their music so characteristic. Animated, touching, melancholic and full of joy – the pieces on NIGUN explore a wide range of emotions.
