HANNA SIKASA – the name stands for the Nuremberg-based singer, but also for her eight-piece band. Played are the artist’s own songs, somewhere in the wide field of jazz, pop and folk – no reason to be pushed into a pigeonhole. She complements herself on vocals and Wurlitzer with the warmth and richness of cello, flugelhorn and three-part singing. Indispensable to the rich, mellow sound is, of course, not least the foundation of double bass and drums.
This minimalist sound, with which the large cast fills space with music in an insanely unpretentious way, creating a very intimate and tense atmosphere, and last but not least this voice, which radiates a warmth and greatness in its unadornedness, that is Hanna Sikasa.
