Vor Jahren traf der Saxophonist Peter Decker Lee Konitz bei einem Konzert in Köln. Damit war der Grundstein einer Freundschaft gelegt, deren musikalisches Ergebnis nun auf Tonträger erschienen ist. Zusammen mit der Oliver Strauch Group entstand eine Aufnahme, die den Altmeister zusammen mit seinen jungen Kollegen von der besten Seite zeigt.

Years ago, saxophonist Peter Decker met Lee Konitz at a concert in Cologne. That was the beginning of a friendship whose musical results are now released on record. Together with the Oliver Strauch Group, they made a recording that shows the old master and his young colleague from their best side. Some of the tunes on the CD are by Lee Konitz, and a few of them were written a long time ago. The collaboration of Lee Konitz with these young musicians is not a singular event but has been going on for two years now, and two tours (a third one is planned). The present CD was the logical consequence of their collaboration and is a milestone on their path together.
