Cafe del Mundo – Dance of Joy

Description

A summer night’s dream in Spanish gardens – that would be a fitting title for this album with enchanting guitar music inspired by the South.
Jan Pascal and Alexander Kilian sweep their listeners off into a world filled with magical impressions and rhythmic dances and ignite a breath-taking firework. Based on the flamenco but also inspired by Arabian and Latin-American elements, they unfold sumptuous sound pictures of a magnificent colourfulness. Their music is varied but fluent, soft and breezy but still full of depth. Not only are they masters of their craft but also a team of congenial minds vibrating with their zest for life and their love for music.
In summer of 2007 Alexander Kilian takes part in one of Jan Pascal’s guitar workshops. Something clicks between them and since then they play together. During one inspired autumn week, Jan Pascal composes the music for “dance of joy”. In the recording studio, the arrangements evolve in cooperation with Alexander Kilian. The self-published album first comes out titled “nuevo cuarteto” in May 2008. Some guitar parts have been re-recorded and the album is lightly dressed in a transparent, delicate “robe of sound” for publication by the label GLM in December 2015.
